ASPIRATION PNEUMONIA 

   

Recommended First Line - Tazocin + clindamycin

Common pathogens                   Appropriate Antibiotics

Anaerobes                                   Imipenem, Tazocin or Clindamycin

Gram-negative bacilli                    Augmentin, Clindamycin, Tazocin, Imipenem

Staphylococcus aureus                  Cephalosporin (or ?MRSA vancomycin /linezolid)

Streptococcus species                   Cefotaxime, Ceftriaxone then Amoxicillin
