BRONCHIECTASIS  

     

Recommended First Line - Ceftazidime + Gentamycin

Common pathogens                   Appropriate Antibiotics

Pseudomonas                               Ceftazidime, Ciprofloxacin, Imipenem,
                                                   Tazocin + Gentamycin

Strep. pneumoniae (pen-sens)        Amoxicillin, Ceftriaxone, Cefotaxime

Strep. pneumoniae (pen-resistant)  Ciprofloxacin, Vancomycin, Linezolid

Haemophilus influenzae                  Doxycycline, 2nd or 3rd gen. Cephalosporin

Moraxella catarrhalis                      Augmentin, 2/3 Gen Cephalosporin, Cipro

Mycobacterium avium                     Clarithromycin, Rifampicin

Aspergillus fumigatus                      Amphoteracin, Fluconazole
